Wilkinsons Removals & Storage became members of the Association of Independent Movers (AIM) in 2020. We have continually achieved a five-star rating from our Bristol removal customers since joining and we strive to continue our high standards on every removal we carry out, regardless of the size of the job, or its complexity.

Following your move we may ask you a few questions on how you feel our local removal service performed, and your responses will be shared with AIM. We do this as part of the process of monitoring our services and ensuring that we remain a leading Bristol removals company and retain our high industry standards. The questionnaire is completely optional.

The Association of Independent Movers are committed to helping removals and storage companies improve and raise standards within the industry and all members must adhere to the strict code of practice.

The Furniture Ombudsman

Our storage service is completely flexible to your specific needs and requirements making our service very cost-effective. The price is calculated by the number of weeks you chose to store your items with us. By choosing Wilkinson’s removals you will have the peace of mind that all your items will be stored in a safe place where you will have full access to them. In the event of a complaint, we will work with you to resolve the matter to your satisfaction, but if the complaint remains unresolved, you can raise the issue to The Furniture Ombudsman.

Being part of this trade organisation gives us a huge benefit of being part of a large network of independent movers and storers all over the UK and Europe who have a like minded attitude to the removals and storage industry, promoting high standards of service in every aspect of training. Wilkinson's Removals & Storage has its own in-house training for new staff while on their three month trial period. Once approved, and welcomed aboard, all staff attend Move Assured training days to help increase their knowledge base through continued development within the company.

Armed Forces Covenant

We commit to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country. Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services. Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most such as the injured and the bereaved.

This obligation involves the whole of society: it includes voluntary and charitable bodies, private organisations, and the actions of individuals in supporting the Armed Forces. Recognising those who have performed military duty unites the country and demonstrates the value of their contribution. This has no greater expression than in upholding this Covenant.

We recognise the value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business and to our country. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, by:

• Promoting the Armed Forces: promoting the fact that we are an Armed Forces-friendly organisation, to our staff, customers, suppliers, contractors and wider public.

• Veterans: supporting the employment of veterans, recognising military skills and qualifications in our recruitment and selection process; working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to support the employment of Service leavers;

• Service Spouses & Partners: supporting the employment of Service spouses and partners; partnering with the Forces Families Jobs Forum (https://www.forcesfamiliesjobs.co.uk/); and providing flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment.

We will publicise these commitments through our literature, on staff notices, and on our website, setting out how we will seek to honour them and inviting feedback from the Service community, our staff and our customers on how we are doing.

Our Environmental Pledge

Looking after the planet is just as important to us as all the above memberships, which is why we reuse and recycle wherever possible and carry out disposals in a responsible manner.

After considering our own carbon footprint, Wilkinsons Removals estimated a medium sized removal company could be producing up to 400 tons of CO2 a year. Most of this comes from vehicles, which can emit as much as 1kg of carbon for every kilometre travelled.

This revelation prompted us to make a commitment to the environment, across our company. In fact, we didn’t just want to change our own practises, we wanted to innovate, set new industry standards and encourage other removers and hauliers to move in a greener direction.
